Description
Know About TPL – Long Pan Conveyors
Suitable for horizontally hauling any type of bulk material, even at high temperatures, whenever multiple intermediate discharge points are required. The material can be trasported on both the upper and/or lower run of the machine. The pan conveyors have a metal deck formed by a series of long flat-bottomed pans that have upturned sides to contain the material. The end section of each pan overlaps the succeeding pan to form a mobile channel for containing the material being transported. Each pan mounts a pair of rollers on the side with guiding edge and rolling-element bearings: these rollers move on appropriate tracks and support the metal deck on both the upper and lower runs. Moreover, each pan mounts a transversal pin with attachments at the ends for connection to the drive chains; the pins also help to stabilise the pans horizontally. The guides have a special shape near the two ends of the conveyor to prevent the pans from tilting over and ensure that their side walls always face upwards, so that material can be conveyed on both the upper and lower runs. Two Link chains with pins and fixed bushings placed on the sides of the conveyor drive the pan deck and offer an additional support for stabilising the pans. The vertical support structure comprises trestles (two small columns with double crossbeams), while the horizontal support simply comprises the tracks connecting the trestles which are spaced out at regular intervals. The drive station in the discharge zone includes a drive unit that imparts movement to the deck, while the return station on the opposite end includes the chain take-up station. Both stations are equipped with appropriate guides that prevent the pans from tilting over, as previously mentioned.
Functional specifications:
- Recommended speed: < 0.30 m/s.
- Material can be discharged from the upper to the lower run, while intermediate discharge points may be installed on the lower run along the entire conveyor; this allows for serving a battery of aligned silos or creating long deposits.
